And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (NIV)

The Judgments Yet to Come

  1. The Judgment Seat of Christ: This judgment is for believers and focuses on rewards rather than salvation. 2 Corinthians 5:10 says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad." Believers' works are evaluated, and they receive rewards accordingly.

  2. The Great White Throne Judgment: This is for unbelievers and takes place after the Millennial Kingdom. Revelation 20:11-15 describes this judgment, where the dead are judged based on their works, and those whose names are not found in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire.

  3. The Judgment of Nations: In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus describes separating the "sheep" from the "goats" based on how they treated others, especially "the least of these" (the hungry, thirsty, stranger, needy, sick, and imprisoned).

Life in the Millennium

The Millennial Kingdom is a 1,000-year reign of Christ on earth, as described in Revelation 20:1-6. Here are some key aspects:

  1. Christ's Reign: Jesus Christ will rule as King over the earth, bringing justice, peace, and righteousness. Isaiah 9:6-7 prophesies, "For to us a child is born... and the government will be on his shoulders... Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end."

  2. Peace and Prosperity: The Millennium will be characterized by peace, prosperity, and harmony. Isaiah 2:4 says, "He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore."

  3. Satan Bound: Revelation 20:1-3 describes how Satan will be bound and thrown into the Abyss for 1,000 years, preventing him from deceiving the nations.

  4. Resurrection and Reign of the Saints: Revelation 20:4-6 indicates that believers who have died will be resurrected and will reign with Christ during the Millennium. "They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

  5. Restoration of Creation: The natural world will experience restoration and healing. Isaiah 11:6-9 describes a time when even natural predators will live in harmony: "The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat..."

  • Ephesians 2:10. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

  • Philippians 2:13. "For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose."

  • Psalm 138:8. "The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands."

  • Proverbs 16:9. "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."
