Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” The divine Lord, Jesus Christ, descended with a lofty mission: to bestow upon us everlasting life and reveal the boundless love of the Almighty Father. The Holy Savior was aware of His destiny and the pain and sacrifice He would have to endure, yet He remained steadfast and continued to exhibit unwavering obedience to the will of the Father. Thus, we shall emulate the example of Jesus and elect to lead a life imbued with a higher purpose.
Psalm 57:2 “I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” When the Lord guides us to live according to His purpose, we must faithfully obey because the ultimate purpose of existence is to serve God and find spiritual fulfillment. Above all, we must live according to His unwavering message of righteousness. When we make time to forge a deeper bond with Him, the Holy Spirit imbues us with His goodness, and through the surrender of our trust to the divine guidance and wisdom of the Almighty, we can bring forth a purpose for our lives and that of His glory.
Living a life with a higher purpose can be difficult, but let us remain optimistic and know that God uses his divine intervention to help us along the way. The story of Jonah from the Bible is a good example to illustrate this: in Jonah 1:1-2, "The word of the Lord came to Jonah, son of Amittai: 'Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.'" This verse emphasizes Jonah's calling and God's purpose for him; despite his initial reluctance to obey, he endured pains and trials, and through divine mercy, he redeemed himself and fulfilled his higher purpose.
Isaiah 58:11 "Then the Lord will guide you always, satisfy our thirst in parched places, and give strength to your bones." "And you shall be like a watered garden, like a flowing spring whose waters never fail." As we elect the divine purpose, the Holy Spirit imbues us with divine hope, empowering us to venture into life with unwavering confidence to confront our trials. Life shall not be easy at times, but God has promised to be with us in our trials. Rest assured, for His promise is good. A life with a purpose is one where we, as devout followers, witness our growth as Christians by aiding others and producing bountiful fruit.
