Virtue & Service Habits

Catholic life is built on virtue (who we become) and service (how we love). Together, they form the daily habits that shape a Christian home.

1. The Core Catholic Virtues

Cardinal Virtues
  • Prudence: choosing the good in real situations
  • Justice: giving others what is due to them
  • Fortitude: courage to do what is right
  • Temperance: self‑control and balance

“What virtue did I practice today? What virtue do I need tomorrow?”

Theological Virtues
  • Faith: trusting God and believing His promises
  • Hope: expecting God’s help and eternal life
  • Charity (Love): loving God above all and loving others as He loves

Catholic tradition teaches three theological virtues and four cardinal virtues. These are the “muscles” of the Christian life.

  • Pray for God’s help before tasks
  • Keep an Advent candle or prayer corner
