THE TRINITY
The central mystery of Christian faith and life is the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity. It is the mystery of God in himself—one God in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Father
The Unbegotten Principle and Source of the Godhead, who creates and sustains all existence through the Word in the Spirit.
The Son
The Eternal Word, begotten of the Father, who became incarnate to reveal the truth of the Godhead and redeem creation.
The Holy Spirit
The Breath of God, proceeding from the Father through the Son, who sanctifies the faithful and vivifies the Church.
